James Silver has developed operating and financial skills during more than twenty-five years of private equity experience. As Managing Director and Operating Executive, he invested in, managed, and successfully built companies in multiple industries. Mr. Silver has served on the Board of Directors of numerous public and private companies.
As Managing Director at Charterhouse Group, Inc., Mr. Silver focused on the Business Services and Industrial sectors, while participating as a member of the Investment and Valuation Committees. As an entrepreneur at Charterhouse, he transitioned a military electronics business into the commercial marketplace and took the company public.
Mr. Silver has significant experience with turnarounds. Accomplishments include privatizing a post-bankrupt document management company and serving as chief executive officer of a successful manufacturing turnaround.
Prior to joining Charterhouse in New York, Mr. Silver was Assistant Director for Charterhouse Bank in London, investing private equity in European companies.
Mr. Silver holds a B.G.S. from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from New York University, Leonard N. Stern School of Business.
